Postcards are a way of saying,
“I’m here and I’m thinking of you.”
This senior project is rooted in gratitude, shaped by opportunity and the unseen sacrifices that make movement and distance possible. Experiences of travel and growth are accompanied by longing and quiet guilt—a sense of being suspended between where one stands and where one comes from. Within this tension, postcards shift from simple souvenirs into records of presence and tools for bridging emotional and physical distance, particularly within family relationships.
Inspired by the concept and physicality of place, the project constructs abstract landscapes that invite a visceral sense of location and atmosphere. Through collage and layering, space is reimagined as something felt rather than mapped. Silk-screened symbols drawn from stamps and travel ephemera blend analog print
with digital graphics, situating personal sentiment within shared systems of memory and exchange. The postcards function as intimate gestures, holding space for connection, reflection, and the quiet act of
being remembered.
